Volunteer

Our librarians can always use an extra pair of hands with projects.
Please fill out the form below and we will contact you when we need help with a project.

Regular Volunteer Tasks

Wiping Materials

Dust and sticky fingers are an unavoidable occurrence at the library. Our simplest task is to dust shelves and books, and/or sanitizing-wipe down computers and children’s toys.

Adopt-a-Shelf:
Volunteers are assigned a bookcase and become responsible for its upkeep. Shelf-read to make sure items are in order, shift items when space is tight, and dust when necessary.

Checking Multi-Media:
The library houses audiobooks, cds, dvds, and videogames which need to be shelf-read, made sure they’re labeled properly, checked for damage or missing discs, and wiped down.

Book Sale Helper:
Our Book Sale Committee is always looking for people who can move loads of books and/or sort them for our bi-annual sales. Click here for more information.

Questions or concerns, please contact the Library Volunteer Coordinator, Theresa Osborne, at [email protected] or 315-789-5303 ext. 104.

Volunteer Appreciation Social

Volunteers are the undeclared support of every library. Since 2013, Geneva Public Library has hosted an Annual Volunteer Appreciation Social event, allowing our library staff the chance to show their gratitude for all that volunteers do to keep the library running. In 2015, Geneva Reads, who had also been hosting Volunteer of the Year events, and the Geneva Library decided to team up to co-host one spectacular occasion each year during National Volunteer Week.
